  • We have listed a ‘Price for Similar Design’ for each project on the Our Work page, so check there for an idea on prices.

Our play structures vary in cost depending on size, play features, type of wood and current lumber prices, complexity, travel distance, and if it’s stained. There are a lot of variables that influence the cost, so we try our best to design something that fits your budget.

  • Yes! We currently build anywhere in Minnesota! We are based in Minnetonka and depending on how far we have to go, there may be an additional travel/lodging fee.

  • We are full service - meaning we handle the design and the construction - everything! There’s no hand off to other contractors - making it so much easier to bring your dreams to life!

Make sure to check out our process page. We’ve laid out our process in great detail. If you still have questions, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

  • The whole process, from our first phone call, to designing, to the completion of the fort, can take anywhere from 2-6 months, plus additional time depending on how far booked out we are.

  • Outdoor Play Structures

The two most common types that we use are western red cedar and pressure treated pine.

    Indoor Play Structures

We use a variety of wood and plywood depending on the design.

We handpick all of our lumber to ensure the best quality play structure. We will discuss the differences in lumber during the design process.

  • We do!

    Outdoor Play Structures

You have a choice of staining an outdoor play structure. Some families choose to leave the play structure natural to save on cost and some decide to stain it to increase its durability and/or achieve a desired look.

If treated lumber is used for our outdoor play structures, we have to wait about 90 days from completion to stain it, to make sure it’s dry and will soak-in the stain. Most families have us stain the fort the following spring/summer.

We always recommend staining as it will prolong its life and add new character to the fort. We use kid-friendly stains on all of our play structures.

    Indoor Play Structures

We stain all of the indoor play structures to increase durability and cleanability.

  • Outdoor Play Structures

The best ways to protect your outdoor play structure is to stain it and remove leaves and debris. Use a leaf blower to remove debris in the fall and give it a light power washing in the spring so it’s ready for play.

Some features do better if brought inside during the winter, like hammocks and zip line seats. We will walk you through all of our recommendations.

    Indoor Play Structure

Can be wiped down with a damp cloth or cleaned with a mild detergent, just like a hardwood floor.

  • Typical projects take between 2-3 weeks to build. If we are doing a complex or larger design, it might take additional time to complete. We will give you a construction timeline as we start designing your fort.

  • Yes! We believe that all kids need and deserve a place to play! That’s why we custom design our forts and play features to allow for everyone to play. We can incorporate ramps and accessible surfacing, adaptive equipment, and accessible features so everyone can experience the excitement and adventure of a fort!

  • Of course not! There’s a different set of play features for older kids. They might not like swings but will probably enjoy trap doors, zip lines, and foam pits. We build forts the whole family will enjoy - even Grandma!

  • Nope! We can work with hills and small footprints! That’s one of the benefits of a custom play structure- we can design it to fit almost anywhere. It’s great when those hard to use spaces become awesome play areas!
